Seeking a landscape irrigation specialist / environmentally conscious plumber in the

Pasadena / Los Angeles area to join La Loma Development Company, an award-winning

General Contractor and Landscape Design-Build firm. Candidate must have previous

experience designing, planning, budgeting and problem solving a variety of plumbing

and irrigation situations, including but not limited to copper soldering, brass valves,

mp-rotators, netafim/hdpe, abs sewer, and installing, wiring, and programming timers.

Experience with greywater conversions, rainwater gutter and barrels, aquaculture,

ponds, and pools are big pluses. Knowledge of weather and soil based irrigation

controllers, as well as knowledge of watering requirements for native and edible plants

very desirable.

You'll be in the trenches with high school students, communicating the essential science of climate change in a lively, fun and unforgettable way. After each presentation you'll be working with youth to create ACE Action Teams that work on a variety of climate change projects, from planting school gardens to throwing green proms. SHARE! the Self-Help And Recovery Exchange is a non-profit community self-help center in Los Angeles, California, where more than 25 different types of self-help support groups (including 12-step groups) meet each week. SHARE! is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Gardening Coordinator to grow vegetables and fruit in our Collaborative Housing program. Collaborative Housing brings together disabled people to live in a house with a garden. Working with volunteers and residents, the Gardening Coordinator will launch and nurture 30 vegetable and fruit tree gardens at Collaborative Houses and Sober Livings throughout Los Angeles County. As the gardens grow, the Coordinator will work with volunteers and mentors to weigh and monitor the produce and help residents incorporate it into their diets.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities
--Recruits and supervises volunteers to create gardens

--Two to three years experience with vegetable and fruit tree gardening

--Teaching experience preferred
--Personal experience attending 12-step or other self-help support groups required
